LARGS household waste recycling centre (HWRC) is to close over two days this week, starting tomorrow.
No reason was given for the sudden announcement, with the centre, on the A760 between Largs and Kilbirnie, not set to re-open until Friday, after closing today (Tuesday).
A North Ayrshire Council posted online: "Largs recycling centre will be closed on Wednesday, November 27 and Thursday, November 28.
"Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused."
The Bartonholm centre in Irvine and the Kilbirnie HWRC facility remain open.
Largs Recycling Centre will be closed on Wednesday 27 November and Thursday 28 November 2024.

North Ayrshire Council have told the News that 'staff availability' is the reason for the sudden closure.
Conservative councillor Tom Marshall said: "I know that the service has been struggling badly with absenteeism and they have been finding it particularly difficult to man the service in other areas of North Ayrshire, the one saving grace is that it is during midweek, and not at the weekend when it is as its busiest.
"The Largs system in general is excellent but this is most unfortunate."
