THE Village Inn in Fairlie was host to a St Andrew’s Night fundraiser in aid of Largs Food Hub.
The evening was a sell out and Village Inn owner Brian Flannigan and his staff did a wonderful job of looking after everyone and serving up a delicious three course meal.
Brian himself was the compere for the evening and kept everyone on their toes with his quick wit and banter.
He compered both the raffle and auction, talked everyone through games and ensured that everyone had a fabulous time.
The raffle would not have been a success without donations from local businesses.
Special thanks to Kelburn Country Estate, Boots, Room, Scotts, Largs Chandlers, Arnold Clark, The Men’s Shed, West Coast Cakes, Pretty Parlour, The Bagel Basket, Salon 17 and Boutique Hair Spa. Thanks also to Ian Murdoch, Specsavers, Matt Burgess Photography and Fredi Newton for their fabulous donations that were auctioned.
The Food Hub is based at the back of the library on Allanpark Street in Largs. It serves Fairlie, Skelmorlie, Millport and Largs and is open every Tuesday between 2.30-5.30pm and every Friday between 10.30am-12.30pm.
Its aim is to provide dignified and affordable access to food for those who are struggling to make ends meet and works on a membership basis. It’s a way for locals to top up their weekly food.
If you are struggling pop in and speak with one of the volunteers who will guide you through the process of becoming a member or if you have a few hours to spare.
