THE festive season is well and truly underway in Fairlie after the villages traditional Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
The honour of lighting the tree was this year bestowed upon long standing community volunteer Clive Shepherd.
He has been involved in the Community Association and village gala committee over the years.
The event also marked the traditional presentation for the BEM Margaret Currie Fairlie Young Citizen of the Year contest.
A spokesperson for Fairlie Community Association said: "Thanks to everyone who came along to the Tree Lighting at the Village Hall on Monday night.
"Congratulations to Nina Buchendorfer, the recipient of the Margaret Currie BEM award for the Fairlie Young Citizen Of The Year.
"Special thanks to Orla Gilmour (depute headteacher, Largs Academy) for presenting the award to Nina, Clive Shephard for switching on the tree lights, and Mrs McGuire, Miss Tracey, Mr Wild and the pupils of Fairlie Primary for excellent entertainment."
