In reference to the illegal parking in loading bay story in the Largs and Millport News, you can only issue tickets if you have officers to identify the offence and write the ticket.

The town centre officers were removed, and it is very rare to see an officer in Largs.

DPE (decriminalised parking) is due to be introduced in November.

This should provide enforcement of the Traffic Order.

I just hope it's consistent and doesn't have a detrimental effect on business and tourism.

I am very supportive of DPE; I first proposed it at full council in December 2017.

However, no alternative long stay parking measures have been introduced, despite me proposing several options over the years.
