THE all new and inclusive Inverclyde Sports Centre is approaching its first anniversary in April, and is linking up with the new Largs Campus and also hosts a diverse range of community sport.
The aim of the column is to give you an idea of the different groups who are visiting the centre, and interesting events and activities taking place at the centre.
· Inverclyde Sports Centre have once again welcomed Manchester United U23s to the centre for another few days of training. It is fantastic that they chose to come back to Largs and once again spend time here residentially. They have been using the pitches and the fitness suite so you may have seen them around the centre.
· Inverclyde welcomed our first school groups of the year to the centre last week, St Michael’s, Hurlford and Newmilns Primary all joined in for an action packed week
· The centre is gearing up to host the officials and staff from the RYA ahead of the UK Sailing Championships taking place at Largs Sailing Club and supported by the team over at National Centre Cumbrae. It’s great for the centre’s to work together to bring such a prestigious event to the area
· One week to go until our Easter holiday activities kick off, if you haven’t already booked in then there are some spaces left in both gymnastics and multi-sports.
Inverclyde would like to thank ESP Fitness for completing improvement works to our gym floor last week quickly and efficiently. The improvements were being made to ensure the centre could meet the demands of high performance weight lifting and the results will benefit all of our customers.
· Duncan Liddel, our fitness manager said “Our weights area can perhaps seem daunting to the beginner but our instructors are all on hand round the clock to show you the basics, weights can have a massive positive affect on your shape so are recommended for everyone!”
