BB Badminton
On 21st April Boys’ Brigade Companies from Scotland, England, and All Ireland will be playing their badminton finals in Scotland. This annual competition sees two Companies from each country competing for the honour of being crowned UK and All Ireland Boys’ Brigade Badminton Champions.
Each team of four boys have played up to 7 rounds in their own country to become Scottish, English and All Ireland finalists. In Scotland 44 Companies from as far as Dumfries to Buckie, entered the Competition, which was played out during the winter of 2017/18, to arrive at the two Companies to represent Scotland.
The winning Companies for Scotland are Largs (for the 8th year) and Houston. Jim Lamont Captain of 1st Largs said “The boys have again played really well during all their matches and travelled all over Scotland. They have trained hard and committed considerable time and effort to qualify for these finals. It is particularly pleasing as the finals are to be held in Largs in April. We are so pleased for the boys, who are to represent Scotland and Largs.”
The competition is to be held at sportscotland’s new National Sports Training Centre Inverclyde, Largs. The North Ayrshire Battalion is hosting the competition on behalf of The Boys’ Brigade Scotland.
