Six young gymnasts from Largs Gymnastics Club are celebrating following outstanding results at the Scottish Men’s Artistic Grade Championships held recently in Perth.
Five of the boys will now go forward to represent Scotland at the upcoming British Grades Finals in Birmingham, while Grant Arneil (14) from Largs won gold at grade level 6 having previously represented Scotland for five consecutive years.
Logan Coyle (nine) from Inverkip won gold at grade 1 level.
Logan will be joined in the Grade 1 Scotland team by Conor Taylor (nine) from Kilwinning who claimed fourth place.
Greenock’s Lee O’Donnell (10) will represent Scotland for the second consecutive year following a fourth-place finish in Grade 2.
Largs boy Aaron Convery (11) will join the Grade 3 Scotland team following a Silver medal performance, which saw him agonisingly close to the Gold medal position.
Finally, Irvine’s Lee Gordon (12) will take his place in the grade 4 Scotland team.
The boys train up to 18 hours a week at the state of the art sportscotland National Centre in Largs and have been expertly led by young local coach Scott Shearon.
