TENNIS players in West Kilbride have been serving up some big wins ahead of the club's much-anticipated finals day this weekend.
Six West Kilbride Tennis Club members triumphed in the final of the Ayrshire Mixed Consolation Final in Kilmarnock, with Derek Ballentine, Sophie Geddes-Emerson, Bill McNicol, Amy Rodgers, Jennifer McNicoll and Neil McClure emerging victorious.
Wednesday night's final followed the club's previous trip to East Ayrshire at the weekend when Largs and Stewarton contested their annual friendly fixture.
There was a great afternoon of tennis in a friendly inter club tournament. As expected, it turned out to be a close match with West Kilbride winning 67-60 and retaining the trophy for another year.
The club's championship finals take place in Kirktonhall Glen this Saturday, September 2, beginning at 11.30am, while the junior finals are on Sunday, September 3, starting at 10am.
All members, families and friends are invited to come and support the finalists. Tea and coffee will be provided, and it is hoped to fire up the barbecue on the day.
