Plenty of young wannabe football stars of the future were lined up for training at Inverclyde Sports Centre 30 years ago this summer.
Also pictured above is Largs Thistle manager John Crawford, fresh from overcoming Glenafton 1-0 in the Scottish Junior Cup final at Ibrox, and coach Davy Provan - and the Junior Cup made an appearance too.
The 30th anniversary of Thistle winning the cup featured in Cochrane's Column and in George Wall's memories in the News recently, so we looked back to when the town celebrated in style with an open top bus coming down Gallowgate Street on Largs seafront with huge crowds watching on.
Going back to the swinging sixties, this Largs Boys Brigade under 14s team in 1968 included a young Graham Gilchrist, John McDonald, Gavin Dow and Sam Nicholson.
The town came out to celebrate the triumphant Largs Academy football team with the Scottish Schoolboy football shield in 2010.
The Academy side won an exciting final at Hampden 2-1 against St Aiden's, with a young Euan Lindsay in amongst the goals,.
The team was managed by Lawrie Baker, supported by Morag Souttar.
The pair acted as the team's coach, physio, travel agent and everything in between.
Largs finished off St Aiden's in style with a fantastic move down the right to cue up Ryan McMunn who drilled home from the edge of the box giving the keeper no chance.
Largs keeper Paul Cankaya was replaced with minutes to go as replacement Alistair Deans had little chance of stopping a late consolation header for the Lanarkshire side.
The final whistle was met with wild celebrations as the Academy were presented with the huge shield for the first time.
