It was finals day at local golf clubs who could take their inspiration from The Open in Troon.
Participants at Skelmorlie Golf Club battled against the adverse conditions on a drizzly day which provided plenty of challenges around the course.
Emerging triumphant in the gents championship was John Anderson and Alex Sargent was crowned the winner of the ladies championship.
A club spokesperson said: "A huge well done to everyone and, once again, many thanks to Reid MacKellar for sponsoring our championship."
The results were as follows - Gents Championship: Winner - John Anderson, Runner up - Innes Anderson; Ladies Championship:, Winner - Alex Sargent, Runner up - Gillian Pollock; Seniors Championship: Winner - Graham Anderson, Runner up - Malky Doull; Ladies Bronze Championship: Winner - Sophie Love Runner up - Fiona Agnew.
And at Routenburn Golf Club in Largs, it was congratulations to Andrew Thomson on his hard fought victory over Ryan Tweedie in the club championship final also played in difficult conditions.
Also well done to Glenn Martin on his win over William Menzies in the John McGown trophy.
It was a damp and breezy day for the annual Viking Krus 36 hole Scratch Open at Largs Golf Club too. The course was in tremendous condition but it was challenging for all the players.
Congratulations goes to 2024 Club Champion Gavin Chesney (Kilbirnie Place GC) who caps off a brilliant season at Largs by winning by two shots from Harvey Broadfoot. Harvey Mcdonald took third place.
The win completes a hat trick of titles for Gavin at Largs this year - the Ayrshire Strokeplay Championship, Largs Golf Club Championship and now the Viking Krus - fantastic play.
The weather was much more favourable on Sunday, July 28 in Millport.
The winners of the Barr Trophy were past captain Alex Haggerty and John O'Hare with a great score of 64.
