Well that was a 7-0 win against Bellshill in the South Region Challenge Cup. Although I did expect a win it was not a scoreline I expected. I was very surprised that no goals were scored by Will Sewell, that boy needs to up his game.
Good to see young Travis Stracey get on the scoresheet, that will boost his confidence. So all looking good going into the league game against Auchinleck Talbot at Barrfields on Saturday.
Looking through the results in the cup, the big shock to me was one of my old clubs Dalry from the Third Division winning 2-0 away at Premier Division Glenafton. I watched Dalry at the start of the season and they are a very young team. A great result for them. Following that result the Glenafton manager Ryan Caddis has left the club.
I see that Largs Thistle 2008’s have announced the signing of Jack Renton. I have watched Jack a couple of times and that is a good addition to the squad. Welcome to Largs Jack and good luck.

What about the referee in the Bournemouth v Chelsea game , 14 yellow cards which I believe is a record for a premier league game. I think the ref in the Dundee Utd v Rangers was trying to equal it, he got to 10. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the most yellow cards issued is 18 in a FIFA World Cup match and occurred during the Argentina vs Netherlands game in 2022. I wonder what the record in Ayrshire Junior Football is, anyone know?

I have been reading that Ange Postecoglou has refused to bring in a set piece coach despite Spurs losing a number of goals from set pieces including the one against Arsenal from a corner at the weekend. I am with Ange on this one . Why do we need set piece coaches? Players should know, especially at Premier League level, how to defend their goal and how to set up to attack at the other end. I am sure Ange has the experience and knowledge to set his team up also. A set piece coach though would be a great job if you can get one.
