Largs Colts 2012s 11 Troon FC Whites 0

Despite a slow start against stuffy opposition Largs Colts 2012s found the back of the net 11 times for the second successive game.

Jayden McCubbin started the scoring after latching onto a cross from Nathan Orr and slamming a left foot shot high into the net at the second time of asking.

Despite plenty of possession and pressure, Largs only found the net once more in the first half Hamish Donaldson reacted first to sweep the shot into the far corner from the edge of the box.

Levi Scutt added the third after Troon failed to clear a loose ball. The fourth came after a well worked freekick gave McCubbin a shooting opportunity at the edge of the box and his dipping shot found the net despite a touch from the Troon keeper. 

Goal number five was arguably the pick of the bunch. In his first game back after injury, Magnus Church stepped out from the back, beat a couple of men and released McCubbin down the right, who unselfishly squared for Arran Sullivan to score his first of the game. 

Sullivan had his second of the game and Largs’ sixth when he popped up at the back post to nudge home after a driving run from Cullin McLaughlin left the Troon defence in his wake.

Goals seven, eight and nine arrived in quick succession with firstly Scutt latching onto an Elliot Cornell through ball to lift the ball over the advancing keeper.

A simple ball over the top from Archie Fisher allowed McCubbin to set up Sullivan again for his hat trick and Largs eighth of the afternoon.

Cornell scored the ninth of the day, ramming home at the back post after Troon failed to clear a corner.  McCubbin completed his second hat trick of the season, chipping the ball over the Troon keeper for the 10th goal of the game. 

Captain Connor Sanbrook completed the scoring when the Troon keeper could only palm his shot upwards and into the roof of the net to round off a comprehensive win for the Colts starlets.
