THE new sport of pickleball is fast winning friends and influencing people after another successful session at Largs Academy.
A new festival style format involving three hour pickleball sessions involving the new hybrid tennis sport is proving popular on Wednesday evenings in the town.
Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong, and a recent three hour session took place which gave lots of people the opportunity to play the sport.
The U.S sport is played on a badminton-sized court with a slightly modified tennis net, where players use paddles to hit a ball between them. It can be played as both singles and doubles.
A club spokesperson said: "We enjoyed another superb festival style session with three hours of great pickleball.
"Lots of spirited play with all our players showing big improvements. It is the same again next Wednesday at Largs Academy."
