A GROUP of fitness enthusiasts are hoping that a foodbank will be miles better off thanks to a triathlon in Largs later this month.
They will swim, cycle and run in order to raise much needed funds for Largs Food Bank.
The funds raised will ensure that the service can remain open for the local community for the foreseeable future.
The triathlon takes place on Saturday, November 16 and will be running from 7am until 9pm at the Vikingar!
The event is being organised by Allison Campbell and Susan McNicol, which has now reached its limit for entries with friends and families taking part on the day.
Allison said: "Please support our triathletes by donating what you can. Every little helps. As the foodbank is run by volunteers, all funds raised will go directly to stocking our shelves."
The foodbank is situated in Largs Community Church, formerly Clark Memorial Church, and is run by a devoted team of volunteers.
It supports the Largs, Fairlie, Cumbrae and Skelmorlie areas. Largs Foodbank is a self-funded organisation and relies solely on donations and fundraising.
Volunteers work tirelessly to ensure there are funds available to keep the vital service afloat for local community.
A total of £1,824 has been raised so far for the big event.
Wendy Low Thomson, volunteer at Largs Food Bank, thanked everyone for getting involved and wished all those taking part the very best of luck for the triathlon challenge fundraiser.
