AYRSHIRE based sides are still leading the way in a number of Scotland's rugby union leagues.
At the very top of the set up, it is Ayr RFC who top the standings in the National Premiership.
The Millbrae side added to their impressive start the the campaign on Saturday, November 9, as they picked up a resounding 59-7 win at home to Hawick.
The result is their tenth straight victory from ten matches played thus far - with the league almost exactly at the halfway stage.
Only Heriot's are within touching distance of Ayr, with the two teams set to meet in Edinburgh on Saturday, November 23.
Further down the top division, it has been a more challenging season for Marr RFC.
The Troon based club fell to a narrow 32-30 defeat at home to Musselbrugh this weekend.
The result drags them closer to the bottom of the table, in third to last position and just four points ahead of bottom side Kelso RFC.
Further down the national leagues, in Division Three, Garnock RFC bounced back to form and picked up their first win since September.
They travelled to face West of Scotland on Saturday and picked up an impressive 34-27 win.
The result takes them back into the top half of the league standings, just 11 points from top in what is a tightly packed division.
In National Division Four, Ardrossan Accies bounced back from their first league defeat in 18 months two weekends ago.
They faced a tough trip to face Moray on Saturday, and picked up a 29-16 win in the match.
The result keeps them in top place, five points ahead of unbeaten Strathmore - who have two games in hand on the North Ayrshire side.
In the regional leagues, Kilmarnock RFC still lead the way in West Division One.
However, they took a break from league action this weekend, to compete in round two of the National Shield.
Despite their strong league form, they came crashing out of the competition, losing 27-18 away to Strathendrick RFC.
With the shield taking place, that rounded off men's rugby action in Ayrshire this past weekend.
In women's rugby, Ayr's two match winning run was brought to a halt on Sunday, November 10 as Greenock Wanderers ran out 40-12 winners in their West Division One clash.
It was also a tough week for Irvine, as they fell to a 55-7 defeat at home to runaway West Division Two leaders Bishopton.
However, it was a superb weekend for Marr RFC who got their second stage of the West Division Three season off to a flier with an emphatic 61-12 victory over East Kilbride.
