Residents in West Kilbride and Portencross are once again 'hacked off' as heartless vandals continue to ruin donated benches under the cover of night.
Angry Audrey Kolon, who highlighted the matter last October, said that there has been a repeated occurrence over recent weeks.
She said: "The bench is without it's backrest slats which were removed sometime between the afternoon of the 30th and the morning of the 31st December. This is the fourth bench to be vandalised, the 1st one, which was in the Glen, had to be removed as it was so badly damaged and only a pile of debris remained.
"The 2nd was the one situated on the beach path adjacent to the West Kilbride Golf course , the 3rd also on this beach path has also damage, albeit a piece of the arm cut off!"
"Now this 4th bench at the crossroads of WK /Portencross road on the A78/7048 where you would have assumed due to the amount of traffic should have been safe from vandals.
"I am at a loss to understand why."
The West Kilbride Civic Society purchased the benches for the benefit of everyone in the community.
If anyone can help concerning the vandalism, or has seen anything suspicious, please contact the police by phoning 101.
