Scottish Fire Services have confirmed that there were no injuries following Thursday morning's blaze at the last standing crane at Peel Ports terminal at Hunterston.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We are currently on the scene of a crane fire on the Hunterston Terminal.
"Four pumps are at the scene and are working to extinguish the fire.
"There are no injuries."
A spokesperson from Peel Ports said: “We can confirm that a mobile crane, belonging to the demolition contractor removing our ship-to-shore cranes caught fire this morning. The emergency services were immediately alerted and the fire extinguished.”
The fire has now been completely extinguished, Peel Ports added.
