The Cumbrae branch of the Scottish Women’s Institute are helping the island to bloom after adopting a flower bed.
After receiving a participatory budget grant from North Ayrshire Council, the organisation has taken over the bed on the prom near the flagpole.
Members have already been hard at work at the seafront site planting up the bed for the summer season.
A spokesperson said: “We have taken an environmentally friendly 'no dig' approach to preparing the flower bed.
“Many thanks to Balikillet Farm for delivering manure, County Garage for helping with compost and plants and Mapes for giving us access to a water supply.
“Thanks of course to our volunteers for undertaking the preparation of the flower bed and the planting and caring for the plants over the summer months.”
