In his first interview, new Largs Thistle manager Bryan Slavin has said he is delighted to be involved at Barrfields, and is left in no doubt what his main aim is in the opening few weeks in the hotseat.
“First and foremost, we want to get points on the board,” said Bryan, “and we want to get up the league. The focus is that we are in second bottom spot but I have always been looking up the way as opposed to down, and we are looking at who we can catch above us in the league.
Bryan, as a player, captained Auchinleck Talbot to both league and Scottish Cup success, and his assistant is Stuart 'Arnie' Davidson who he linked up with as part of a legendary midfield for the Beechwood Park side.
Bryan added: "“I was fortunate to be made captain and lifted the Scottish Cup three times, and made it to another final, and have won league titles and league cups. I think very highly of the place, and even if I can replicate a smidgen of the success we had at Auchinleck, we will be doing well.” Full interview in this week's Largs and Millport Weekly News.
