A music loving former church moderator of Scotland - known as ‘Rockin Rev’ - is set to bring his live show to St Columba’s Parish Church.
An evening of celebration and praise with a difference, will be held on Friday 22 November at 7.30pm. The evening will feature Albert Bogle and The Bogle Band.
The Rev Albert Bogle is Minister of St. Andrew’s Church, Bo’ness and was last year’s Moderator of the Church of Scotland. The minister has also been known as ‘Rockin’ Rev’ in some church circles.
Two members of the band are in fact members of St. Columba’s Parish Church, Dr Iain Jamieson and his brother Dr Colin Jamieson. Iain Jamieson is a GP based in Irvine and Colin is a GP with Largs Medical Practice.
The band write many of their own songs and arrange modern settings of traditional hymn tunes. Entry to the event is free but there will be an opportunity to donate to The Church of Scotland, World Mission. The Mission And Outreach Committee of St. Columba’s Parish Church is hosting the evening which promises to be musically outstanding, lively and spiritually uplifting.
The former moderator. who has admitted to being a massive fan of rap music, has even recorded an album.
